There are times when we are required to drive slower than usual, and most of the time, we can hardly let other road users understand why. However, a Honda City driver recently “informed” other drivers that he had no choice but to drive slow on the road by sticking a note on his car boot.

“Sorry, I can’t drive fast. My wife just had a caesarean section.”

The image was shared by a Twitter user @tumbukrusuk and has since been reshared by many social media pages. The Honda City driver has received major praise from netizens who were mostly touched by how well he took care of his pregnant wife, as well as his effort to “notify” other road users about his reason when he was not obliged to.

“Mad respect toward this brother for how well he takes care of his wife. Heaven for you and your family!” says the caption of the post.

It didn’t take long for the owner of the Honda City to get his attention on the post. The driver, Amriezal has since responded to the tweet and explained further his need to maintain a slow speed on the road.

According to him, the picture was taken recently on Guthrie Highway during peak hours when people were headed home from work.

“No one asked me to drive fast, but I did this as a precautionary step to respect other road users,” Amriezal said.

He added that there were no issues for him to drive slow on the highway, but some roads after the highway were tougher for him as many drivers had to overtake him.

“To those who followed me from the back with patience, I apologise and thank you.”

Amriezal also said that his wife was discharged on March 4th, but was rushed to the hospital on March 7 again when the stitches gave way and she started bleeding.

“Things were not made easy when our house in Sungai Buloh was affected by the flash flood.”

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Amriezal said that due to the angle of the viral image, many netizens thought that he was driving slowly in the right lane.

“I was driving on the left lane,” he explained.

He also told WORLD OF BUZZ that he had to be extra careful on the road after his wife had undergone 2 surgeries.

Regardless, we’re glad that Amriezal and his wife made it back safely, and we’re also amused by the effort he took just to “notify” other drivers. If the occasion calls for it, it’s okay to drive slower than usual. Better to be safe than sorry.
