The beauty of relationships can sometimes be seen in its inherent complexities. Journeys will not always be smooth, but one can guarantee that new paths can sometimes be forged no matter how troubling things may get.
A recent TikTok video posted by Malaysian makeup artist Nini to her account @ninizlni has been making waves online due to a significant and sweet gesture made by her ex-boyfriend.
In the clip, Nini shared the lengths her previous partner went through in order to surprise her for her birthday. Dressing up in a Mickey Mouse costume, Nini’s ex attended her birthday as the animated character to brighten up the festivities. From singing happy birthday to cheering for her, he even stayed to see Nini blow out the candles on her cake before giving her a high five.
However, the best part of the entire moment was the fact that Nini was not aware that the man in the Mickey Mouse costume was her ex-boyfriend.
“He didn’t want to ruin my birthday after what he did to us a year ago. So, he came in a Mickey Mouse costume so I wouldn’t recognise him. Later, he told me he had cried in the costume because he was happy that, at least, he could celebrate my birthday with me,” wrote Nini in the caption of the video.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Nini said she had asked her friends who the guy in the costume was after he left, to which they told her to read the card on a bouquet of flowers that was around nearby. On the card, Nini’s ex-boyfriend had revealed to her that he was indeed the one in the Mickey Mouse costume.
A few weeks after her birthday, Nini met with her ex and asked him how everything was planned. According to Nini, her ex-boyfriend had organised the entire surprise with her friends.
He wore the costume as an added layer to the surprise, so as to not ruin the celebration, unsure at the time as to whether she’d be upset at his presence during the birthday party.
Receiving immense praise for his caring and romantic act, many Malaysians expressed how heartfelt his actions were.
In a delightful turn of events, Nini has since updated viewers in the comments section by saying that they have rekindled their relationship, as she decided to give him another chance.
