Last Saturday, on the 24th of May, Muslims in Malaysia and around the world celebrated Hari Raya. Despite the pandemic, we still found reasons to celebrate and be grateful. The government allowed visitations on the first day thus Malaysians went to the houses of their NEAREST friends and family. To avoid unnecessary interstate travel, our dedicated police and military set up roadblocks to monitor the situation.
Twitter user @ahmdfaiz12 posted about how he was stopped on the road by the police during Raya morning. If you think he was travelling interstate or doing something against the SOP, you’re wrong! He was stopped because there was a small catto stuck in his car hood without him even realizing.

APM, PDRM and PLUS Highway authorities then rallied together to help the poor kitten which was stuck there. Fortunately, they managed to do so in the nick of time because if the catto was in there any longer, it might have died from the heat.
The policemen who were stationed at Jalan Duta explained humorously in the video below of how the managed to catch the cat who was trying “travel interstate illegally”. They even noted that the catto was probably someone’s pet since it had a collar around its neck.

In case you’re wondering what happened to the catto, Ahmad Faiz and his family took the cat back to their residential area and released it there so that the owner can find it.
Alhamdulillah kucing tu selamat.. Kita orang hantar balik ke kawasan rumah ? pic.twitter.com/mMnzAUIOCN

Faiz thanked the APM (Angkatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia), PDRM and the PLUS Highway authorities who stepped up and went beyond their duties to help a poor animal in danger.
Despite working on Hari Raya and under the hot sun, our frontliners never let anything deter them from their duties and still have a sense of humour. For that, we salute you!
