A newborn baby boy who still has his umbilical cord attached was found in Kuala Terengganu yesterday by a local resident near his house. The resident, 28-year-old Ahmad Fauzi Sulaiman said that the baby boy was found under a wooden chair behind the kitchen of his house at Kondo Rakyat Kuala Ibai in the Terengganu capital at 6.05pm.
As reported by BERNAMA, Ahmad Fauzi revealed that the baby was only wearing a disposable diaper but is still healthy. He commented,
“The baby was only wearing a disposable diaper. Alhadulillah the baby seems to be healthy with no injuries,”
Ahmad Fauzi’s father-in-law then called the police regarding the incident and they arrived at the scene at about 7.30pm. From the looks of things, the newborn baby was likely abandoned by his parent(s).
Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief ACP Abdul Rahim Md Din has since urged the public to contact the nearest police station should they have any information regarding the baby boy.
