Inside the mind of a person with a neurological condition can often bring a sense of uncertainty to those around them, which is why it’s important to support them at every given moment.
A recent TikTok has been touching the hearts of users all across Malaysia after a mother named Naziera Aziz shared a clip of her son, Ali, who has autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), on her account @nazieraaziz.
In the video, Naziera showed her son holding his ears closed while the family was dining at a restaurant. Due to the loud rain that suddenly came pouring down and could be heard on the roof of the eatery, Ali, who was experiencing discomfort due to the sounds, received support from his father.
Coming over to sit next to him, Naziera’s husband held Ali close and hugged him. Bringing the boy towards his chest, Naziera’s husband helped soothe their son by covering his ears and giving him emotional support. Ali visibly experiences more calmness in the moment as well.
“Ali is sensitive to sounds such as rain, thunder, lawn mowers, things falling, and sudden sounds in general. Usually, we bring a pair of headphones, but we didn’t know it would rain suddenly, and they were in the car. May God protect mummy’s heavenly child no matter where you go,” wrote Naziera in the caption of her post.
Receiving immense support and praise, many Malaysians also shared their own experiences with those close to them who have autism.
“I’ve seen a mother with her autistic child before and the child was wearing earphones that are noise cancelling. It’s for the outdoors and worn during situations like this,” wrote one user.
One of the most fruitful comments came from a user who revealed themselves to be an early childhood educator, explaining that Ali likely possesses autism on the spectrum which includes sensory sensitivity in the form of sound.
Nevertheless, multiple users wished the family well and sent their best to Ali, so that he may always be happy and healthy.

In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Naziera expressed her hope that this video may bring awareness to people on autism, as many don’t truly know about the condition.
“I’m proud to have an autistic child who taught me to be patient and humble,” said Naziera to WORLD OF BUZZ.
