They say desperate times call for desperate measures, but that doesn’t mean that when you’re broke, you should settle for going to a loan shark. I mean, after all, if you’re still broke and can’t pay them back, you’ll be on the receiving end of some hardcore assault.

One Malaysian man showcased just bad harassment from loan sharks can get, as his brother lives in a house belonging to a landlord who owes money to loan sharks. Am (@AZLYAMRY) took to his Twitter account to share a picture of his brother’s rented property, which was covered in fresh red paint with a sign calling out and threatening the owner.

Am captioned his posting with, “The house’s owner has been borrowing money from loan sharks for a while. But my brother became the victim. The loan sharks don’t care if you are involved or not, they want their RM3,000, or they’ll continue with their attacks. If that isn’t scary enough, my brother’s wife just gave birth. Guys, help me stop this loan shark from bothering my brother.”

As if the red paint wasn’t enough, the loan sharks had left a note on their gate threatening the owner of the house.

The message contained the owner’s full name, a message and the loan sharks’ number, which they demanded the owner call in order to settle his debt with them.

The message goes,

“This is a small warning. Next time I will f**king burn the house down. Call me now to settle (your debt).”

Am also shared that his brother has already made a police report and urged the general public to stay away from loan sharks.

It’s extremely unfortunate that the family moved into a property which belonged to an owner who is in debt to loan sharks, and ended up on the receiving end of their harassment. Hopefully, no harms comes to the family and the owner settles his debts as soon as possible.

Am’s story has since garnered over 15,500 retweets.

What would you do in such situations? Have you fallen victim to loan sharks? Let us know in the comments section!
