A woman recently took to social media to share her frustration about a housemate she described as having “bad hygiene”.
In a thread posted by @afrnamaisrh, she recalled an ex-housemate, Amy (psuedonym), who left a lasting and unpleasant impression for having a “strong, fishy, and foul smell” every time she sat cross-legged.

“She’s really unhygienic”
According to afrnamaisrh, when she confronted her housemate, the latter claimed that her mother never taught her to clean herself properly after using the toilet and that she would even reuse her underwear for up to two days.
“I was shocked when I first moved in with her. I’ve never met a woman this unhygienic before. That was a first for me,” she said.
In another instance, afrnamaisrh recalled confronting Amy after she had bled through her underwear during her period. Instead of washing them, Amy reportedly just soaked the bloodied underwear in the toilet and left for home.
“When I texted her, she said, ‘Can you wash it for me? I’ll only be back next week.’ Like, seriously? You expect me to wash someone else’s underwear? Sometimes she wouldn’t even shower for five days and she’d just wash her face and chew mints,” afrnamaisrh shared.

“Please take care of your hygiene”
To make matters worse, afrnamaisrh also recalled Amy consuming stale food because “it tastes better”, and not because she didn’t have any money.
“So I just want to remind everyone, please take care of your hygiene, especially us women. If you think people don’t know that you haven’t showered or whatever, you’re wrong! Other people can smell that burnt, nasty body odour of yours, and your face will also show that you haven’t showered,” afrnamaisrh concluded the thread.
