A viral video has left Malaysians enraged recently, showing the action of a road user insulting and threatening a toll booth operator after he was annoyed that he couldn’t pass through the toll plaza due to insufficient balance on his Touch ‘n Go card.

Recorded by the toll booth operator and posted online by his brother, @azfamierul on X (formerly Twitter), the video has since garnered over 1.6 million views and more than 9,300 likes on the platform.

In the post, @azfamierul is seeking the public’s help to find the driver to confront him about his actions.

Attached with the post is the video, as well as 3 screenshots from it, showing the driver’s face and the rear of the car he was driving.

Toll 2

In the video, the driver can be heard talking to the toll booth operator in an aggressive tone and worse, throwing insults and threatening him

At the start of the video, the driver can be heard threatening to slap the toll booth operator, saying that he “slaps people’s faces every day”.

The driver then asserted,

“You’re troubling other people. It’s because you’re stupid that you’re working at a toll booth. Open!”

“If you’re smart, you won’t be working at a toll booth.”

Toll 3

Despite the insults and aggressive tone of the driver, the phone booth operator remained calm and even thanked the driver after he finally passed through the boom gate.

The driver was short of around RM1.50 in his card

In a follow-up post, @azfamierul then shared a video of a voice recording of his brother giving more details about the incident.

According to the toll booth operator, the incident started when the driver was short of around RM1.50 balance on his Touch ‘n Go card while passing through the DUKE highway.

The driver then had to reload his Touch ‘n Go card at the toll booth with cash as he claimed to not bring his IC along and that his bank cards were faulty.

The video caught the attention of the police

The X post also caught the attention of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) official account, which replied and asked the victim to report the incident at the nearest police station.

In another update, @azfamierul shared that even before he received the reply from the PDRM official X account, his brother had already lodged a police report at the Sentul Police Station.

They are currently waiting for an update from the authorities on the case.
