M’sian Doctor Accused of Filming Female Worker’s Backside & Body While She Was Arranging Products

A local doctor was brought to court today (November 22), and is facing charges for allegedly recording videos of a woman’s backside and body back in July this year.

Berita Harian reported that Dr. Amirul Haqim Ayub denied the charges when they were read to him in front of Magistrate Naidatul Athirah Azman.

He filmed while the victim was arranging stock at the store

The 31-year-old was accused of invading the privacy of a 27-year-old beauty and wellness shop worker by allegedly filming her backside and body with his mobile phone.

The offence took place at a beauty and health store in a shopping mall on Jalan Changkat Jong, Teluk Intan, around 6:30 PM on July 12.

According to the police report, the incident occurred while the victim was arranging new stock at the store, as reported by Berita Harian.

He could face 5 years in prison

The prosecution was handled by Prosecuting Officer Inspector Nurul Farahdiana Md Saad, while the accused was represented by Lawyer S Kumaresan from the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK).

Farahdiana offered the accused bail of RM8,000, however, S Kumaresan, who represented the accused, requested the court to set a minimum bail since the accused has to support his wife.

The court allowed the accused to be released on bail of RM3,500 with one guarantor and set December 30 as the next mention date.

If convicted, the defendant could be sentenced under Section 509 of the Penal Code to a maximum of 5 years in prison, a fine, or both.
