This might probably be the worst case of hangry that we’ve ever seen.

On 25 March, Harian Metro reported that a 34-year-old man had used a wooden chair to hit his father’s head at their home in Bandar Puncak Utama.

It is understood that the incident took place at about 7.45pm on 24 March. The leading cause of the altercation is the father’s scolding.

The 63-year-old had apparently scolded his son for reciting the buka puasa doa too quickly. Kajang district chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said,

“The suspect was not happy with the scolding and swung the wooden dining chair towards his father’s head until the leg of the chair broke.”

The suspect’s sibling then pulled the duo away from each other and called the police.

Buka Puasa Doa Swing Chair

In order to help with the investigations, the police had taken the broken wooden chair. The victim is said to have sustained injuries on his forehead and right palm.

The case will be investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code / 18A of the Domestic Violence Act 2017 where if found guilty, the aggressor will be put in jail for up to a year or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both.

We hope that this is an isolated incident during this month of Ramadan.
