Wedding planning can often be the busiest part of the preparation process, especially when it comes to selecting the foods you want your guests to consume at the wedding. But one Malaysian couple decided to take a rather creative route when choosing what foods would be best for their guests.
In a TikTok video shared to the page @saraygonephoto, one couple opted to have a pasar malam-themed wedding, where their venue contained multiple stalls serving a variety of foods. Organised yet boasting with diversity, the clip gave a brief insight into just a few kinds of foods served during their wedding ceremony at Parit Buntar, Perak.
From laksa and bihun to even roti puri, there were even designated stalls specifically for teh tarik and keropok lekor. On the side of desserts, the couple also had a stand-alone stall dedicated to ice cream and soya bean too.
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, the bride, whose name is Sarah, shared that their initial plan was not to have a variety of stalls as the main source of food at their wedding, though it eventually evolved to become such.
“I originally ordered nasi minyak and a few dishes for my wedding. But then, my extended family suggested someone to make another side dish, and then it grew to the point where different relatives of mine wanted to sponsor one stall each. At the end, even my neighbours and friends of my father also helped sponsor the other stalls there too,” said Sarah to WORLD OF BUZZ.
By the time her wedding day arrived, Sarah stated that what was initially supposed to be a small menu, lead to about 12 stalls being opened at the venue, all of which she was immensely grateful for.
Receiving a heart-warming and positive response online, many people stated how good this concept was, especially for the vendors, who also got the opportunity to cash in on the festivities.
