In the wake of recognising the importance and and sheer value of providing forms of care to stray animals across Malaysia, one couple is showing how using one’s free time to contribute towards a timely cause will reap rewards in more ways than one could imagine.

Malaysian content creator Viishaan “Shaan” Vella has recently made waves online after sharing an effort he makes with his wife in caring for multiple stray dogs near his home of Pulau Angsa, Shah Alam. Posted as an Instagram reel to his page @shaan_graphy, Shaan showed just the lengths him and his wife go through in order to feed these dogs that don’t have a place to call home.

At the beginning of the video, Shaan shared how his wife cooked a hearty meal in their own kitchen, before packaging the items and heading to an area near their home populated with stray dogs. Bringing along plastic plates and bottles of water, Shaan and his partner served plates of food to the dogs for them to receive the nourishment they needed.

Greeted by wagging tales and cheerful dispositions, multiple dogs approached Shaan in the video, as he laid out food for them on the side of the street, with each animal gratefully gorging on the food.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Shaan said that he and his wife cook for the stray dogs up to four times a week, particularly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, though it does depend on the weather and presence of the dogs in certain areas.

“Sometimes, not all of the dogs will be there. So we find different ports to distribute the food to the dogs. Most of the time, it’s nearby our home, about two to three kilometres away. Their menu mostly consists of rice, turmeric, black pepper, carrots, pumpkin, chicken liver, chicken feet, and chicken meat,” said Shaan to WORLD OF BUZZ.

In his closing thoughts, Shaan hopes his video will bring more awareness towards the negligence of care for stray animals in Malaysia.

Receiving immense praise online, many users thanked Shaan and his wife for taking huge strides in providing sustenance for these strays, even by cooking full meals for them in their own kitchen.

So proud of your kind heart!” wrote one user in the comments section.
