Be it from your family members or your boss, Angpow money often comes in a fixed amount. The employers of a cabinet company in KL, however, had the luxury of deciding to get extra money aside from the Angpow from their boss.

Long story short, the amount of their Angpow money depends on how much they could ‘scoop’. In a Xiao Hong Shu post by MNJ Kitchen 专业橱柜, the generous boss, Michael arranged banknotes worth more than RM6,000 on a big, round dining table. The game is simple. Players were given only 1 chance to “ladle” as much money as they could into a big bowl but here’s the trick.

They had to do so blindfolded

Not only that but they also had to make a few body spins, which would cause them to feel a little dizzy so that the money scooping wouldn’t be too easy. Well, there was no easy money in the world, anyway!

With only 1 chance that they had, every player carefully scooped the money into the big bowl. Based on the video below, everyone who participated in the game managed to secure themselves a few hundred ringgit, and that was not even the best part.

The money that they scooped was NOT part of Angpow’s money. It was something additional.

“Long story short, we have bonuses, Angpow, delicious meals, and money-scooping game for the employees,” MNJ Kitchen said in the post.

In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Miss Lee, who is with the customer service of the company said this was not the 1st time Michael hosted the game.

“We first came up with this idea in 2023. Micheal decided to continue this money scooping game for the 2nd this this year.”

Miss Lee also told WORLD OF BUZZ that the game was held right before CNY dinner.

“After dinner, employees went off to enjoy their day off. We also gave them an additional 2 days of holiday, which is not inclusive of the annual leave.”

To those who are celebrating CNY, how was your CNY dinner in the office? Did you manage to get any Angpows from your boss?
