A boutique in a Petaling Jaya mall owned by a local celebrity has come under fire and was ordered to close by enforcement officers amid social media allegations.
In a Threads post by @copeanotfoundd, the retail store was shown being closed off, with a notice at the entrance stating that the company had failed to pay rent.

The company was ordered to pay an outstanding payment of over RM70,000
According to the notice, the company is 12 months behind on its rental payments, forcing it to pay the outstanding amount along with RM500 in costs.
“I hereby order you to seize the movable property found at the premises for the sum of RM70,293.60, representing the rent payable by the Defendant to the Plaintiff for the Premises for twelve months, from January to December 2025, together with costs of RM500.00 payable by the Defendant to the Plaintiff.
“You are hereby expressly prohibited from seizing any property that under the law cannot be distrained for the payment of rent,” the notice read.

The company reportedly didn’t pay staff salaries and monthly EPF contributions
Meanwhile, the Threads user reminded the company not to hesitate in paying the fines, including its staff’s Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributions.
“Bravo @kwspmalaysia for taking action! I don’t make baseless accusations lightly, so let’s not spread slander during this blessed Ramadan. Don’t be reluctant to pay the fines, and make sure your staff’s EPF contributions are paid as well,” the post read.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Copeanotfoundd claimed that former staff from the boutique have been “suffering” because their monthly salaries allegedly weren’t paid, and their EPF contributions reportedly hadn’t been made for 11 months.
“By now, many ex-staff have already moved on to other companies. I want to advise workers to stay alert in situations like this. Always make sure to check your EPF contributions,” they added.
