Many from underprivileged communities tend to have to let go of their dreams due to financial difficulties and not having assistance.

Having experienced that herself, Ms Puiyi is now launching a scholarship programme to help those who are now in her past-shoes to achieve their dreams.

Taking to her official Instagram page, she announced and called for underprivileged community members to apply for her new $1 million (RM4,384,000.00) scholarship fund.

Scholarship 1

“As a girl who came from an underprivileged background, I always wished that I could have had extra financial help so that I could have furthered my studies. It’s something that I think about all the time up until this day, maybe my life would be different?”

“Not everyone is given equal opportunities and there are so many people I know that could have gone so far if they had the financial help when they were younger,” she shared.

Ms Puiyi explained that she had wanted to study medicine and become a surgeon but could not as she didn’t have the funds to get the necessary education for that line of work.

Scholarship 2

She also added that when she was studying business, she could barely sleep or eat as she would spend her hours outside of school trying to earn money through modelling.

“But, now that I am able make a difference, I wish to give back to society.”

“This has always been something that I wished to hopefully make a difference someday, to give equal opportunities to deserving students that can’t afford the education they need to succeed. And now, I am pleased to announce that I will be launching my very own scholarship to help students achieve their dreams,” she added.

Ms Puiyi’s scholarship fund is open to underprivileged students from all around the world. Those eligible will be given $1,000 (RM4,383.00) to pursue their desired field of study as well as access to financial hardship grants while studying and business startup grants after graduation.
