Public toilets are mostly segregated based on gender. So, a male toilet is meant for the gentleman and the female toilet is meant for the ladies. As simple as that.
MRT launched its women’s coach not long ago in an effort to provide a safe space for the ladies. With the KTM’s women’s coach being “abused” many times in the past by people who are not supposed to be in the coach, is MRT bound to go through the same fate? A recent TikTok post by @shueeewen has shown that it didn’t take long for an “invasion” to happen in the women’s coach.
Those who have taken the MRT are likely to notice the obvious signage for the women’s coach, even inside the coach itself. So, there is hardly any excuse for the men to be in the coach that’s dedicated to the ladies.
In her post, Samantha managed to record a few men who were comfortably seated inside the ladies’ coach. During the non-peak hours, MRT trains are less crowded, which means all coaches will have ample seats for the men. Samantha sarcastically said,
“It’s okay. We respect people who have dyslexia.”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Samantha said she took the video around 9:50 am on Tuesday (September 19), which is during the non-peak hours.
“It was the Kajang line and I was headed to Pasar Seni station.”
When asked if there were any auxiliary police there to chase off the men, Samantha told WORLD OF BUZZ that she did not see any authority figures at the scene to ask the men to leave the women’s coach.
“I notice the auxiliary police was only present at the crowded stations, like the Pasar Seni & TRX station. I was from Batu 11 Station which is less crowded, so there was no one there to escort the men away from the ladies’ coach.”
As adults, do we really need auxiliary police to be deployed at every station to escort people away from places they shouldn’t be? You can watch Samantha’s clip below.

Dear ladies, how has your experience in MRT’s women’s coach been so far? If you happen to spot any men in there, will you tell them politely?
