The largest home appliance retailer in Malaysia, MR DIY  has sent 9,000 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) and 20,000 pieces of face masks, worth RM480,000 to Sabah.

As reported by Bernama, MR DIY explained in a statement that the delivery was a step to increase its humanitarian aid to the front liners, the first action team and the group infected with the Covid-19 virus in Sabah, due to the worsening pandemic situation in the state.

Therefore, MR DIY plans to distribute the equipment to the affected areas throughout Sabah, including four major Covid-19 hospitals, six government clinics and other government facilities in Semporna, Lahad Datu, Tawau and Kunak districts. MR DIY CEO, Adrian Ong also mentioned that,

“Measures to fight COVID-19 by MR. The DIY follows the announcement by the Director General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah that the situation of the epidemic in Sabah is now at a critical level, due to the high number of cases every day. Our direct contact with manufacturers and logistics networks nationwide, allows us to channel this supply immediately to those who desperately need it.”

Earlier this year, MR DIY has already distributed more than 2,000 PPEs, 300,000 pieces of face masks, 10,000 face masks and materials to make face masks amounting to more than RM3.8 million since Covid-19 hit the country.
