A motorcyclist died and two others were seriously injured after they got into an accident involving four vehicles on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) near Hulu Selangor on 16 September.
In the incident that happened at 10.15am, the 26-year-old victim identified as Shahiran was confirmed dead at the scene, while the other two motorcyclists – Muhammad (22) and Nizzam (22) – were taken to Selayang Hospital for treatment.
The head of the Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), Superintendent Azman Shari’at said that Shahiran, who was part of a motorcycle convoy, had lost control of his motorcycle and knocked two other motorcyclists, reported Berita Harian.
“Following that, Shahiran fell from his motorcycle and was thrown into the middle lane of the highway,” he said.
“A Perodua Myvi car coming from the back did not have time to dodge and crashed into the victim.”
He added that the driver of the car was not injured and the victim’s body was taken to Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
