Motorcyclist Rides Against Traffic Before Crashing Into Car in Johor, Lands on Car Hood & Just Lies There

Recent dashcam footage has caught the attention of many netizens after a motorcyclist was seen riding against traffic before crashing into an oncoming car.

Despite the driver repeatedly honking to warn him, the motorcyclist was unable to stop in time and ended up slamming into the car. He was thrown onto the hood, where he lay still, appearing visibly stunned by the impact.

Motorcyclist lands on car hood after crashing into it while driving against traffic

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has since responded to the viral video, confirming that the incident occurred along Jalan Masai Lama, Masai, Johor, on 6 January  (Tuesday).

In a statement, Seri Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said police received a report of a road accident involving a grey Volkswagen GTI, driven by a 22-year-old local man, and a red Honda Wave motorcycle ridden by a 29-year-old foreign national.

He added that the car was travelling from Jalan Permas Jaya towards Taman Desa Jaya when the collision happened.

“As the car was driving in the right lane, it suddenly collided with a motorcycle that was coming from the opposite direction against traffic,” he said.

The foreign motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with injuries

The motorcyclist was injured in the accident and was taken by ambulance to Sultan Ismail Hospital for treatment, while the car driver was unharmed.

The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

“The police urge the public to stay patient, follow traffic rules, and remain vigilant on the road at all times. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the police at 07-386 4222 to assist with the investigation,” the statement concluded.
