Netizens’ reactions

“These decayed trees aren’t just by the roadside; there are also many large trees in the parks. Hopefully, no more deaths will happen due to old trees.”

“There needs to be a proper procedure for monitoring potentially dangerous trees, and they need to be trimmed.”

“Just trim the big trees, like what was done along the roads in Taman Sultan Badlishah (TSB). At first, it looks ugly and bare, but over time new shoots grow, and the trees start looking healthy again.”

“It looks like many of the trees in Alor Setar are old. It would be a good idea to trim them regularly to prevent incidents like this, especially with the strong winds these days.”
