KKM (Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia), known also as the Ministry of Health, is now taking in volunteers to help control this growing virus. In their Facebook post, KKM said,
“This message is to extend our volunteer service to medical experts, medical officers, nurses, assistant medical officers and others, who want to help KKM in dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak by helping in a wide range of services.”
Among the tasks that KKM will require participants to do are:
- Run fever screenings in the at public health institutions (or facilities) such as health clinics, district health clinics, KLIA and other authorised locations.
- Running tasks in the hospital with cases that include:
a) Handling patients in other (non-Covid-19) wards which include medical, orthopedic, surgical and other departments to ease the traffic of patients flooding into Covid-19 designated hospitals.
Fill up this google form if you’re interested.
b) Handling Covid-19 cases if you’re an experienced health expert or medical officer (but these are also subject to a number of requirements).
Fill up this google form if you’re interested.
KKM added that anyone interested in volunteering for these positions will need the approval of their department or employer head before joining the task force.
And of course, because you’ll directly be dealing with someone else’s health, you’ll also have to meet the following requirements to be considered eligible for the position:
- Under a professional body that directly deals with the registered field.
- Must be in a healthy physical condition (no uncontrollable/terminal health issues).
- No history of visiting high-risk Covid-19 countries or be in close proximity with someone who tested positive over the last 14 days before duty.
If you are interested or know anybody who would be perfect for the position, do share this with them so we can help our struggling frontliners out! The only way we can defeat this virus is by working together.
