This is great news!

According to The Star, the Health Director-General, has said that after two weeks of MCO, the statistics are showing signs that the government’s efforts are working!

Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham said this after making a comparison between a forecasted graph by the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER) with the actual number of cases that were reported.

The red line signifies the forecasted growth of cases and the blue line indicates the number of cases recorded. Dr. Noor Hisham says,

“When you compare MIER’s projected trajectory with the number of actual cases, you can see that it is less than predicted.

“These are early signs that the mitigating activities introduced by the ministry and other relevant agencies have worked.”

MIER’s projection predicted that there’ll be 4,087 new Covid-19 cases by 31st March. However, in reality, we recorded 2,766 Covid-19 cases as of 31st March.

Although it is very good news, Dr. Noor Hisham urges Malaysians to continue staying at home and to maintain social distancing!

“The next two weeks are crucial. It will decide whether or not the government’s MCO has produced the intended impact.”

So, let’s all adhere to the MCO by staying at home and social distancing. Doing so will help out our frontliners by not contributing to the number of cases!
