A Chinese brand has skyrocketed to the top, officially becoming the world’s biggest food and beverage chain by number of locations.

Mixue has made a name for itself with its rapid growth, overtaking giants like McDonald’s and even Starbucks, as reported by Daily Mail.

Mixue now has 45,000 locations

According to the Wall Street Journal, the budget-friendly drink chain has blown up, now with 45,000 locations.

It all started in 1997 when founder Zhang Hongchao opened the first shop, and since then the small but popular store has taken the fast-food world by storm.

Mixue keeps things simple with a standard menu of teas, lemonades, and ice creams, all sold in stores that follow the same aesthetic.

Most of their shops are small kiosks, which help keep maintenance and energy costs low.

Mixue Malaysia shared that they first launched in the country in 2021 and have since expanded to over 300 stores as of 2024.

Mixue is gearing up to expand!

The company recently went public in Hong Kong, raising $400 million and reaching a whopping $10 billion in value.

Mixue’s huge success comes down to efficiency, affordability, and a “Snow King” mascot that’s basically gained a name in China.

Most of its stores are in China, but around 10% are spread across Australia and other Asian countries. And the ice cream and tea chain has big plans to keep expanding.
