MET: Hot & Sunny Weather To Continue Till Mid-March In Semenanjung Malaysia

By just going out into the sun for a couple of moments these days, we will definitely start sweating like crazy.

A statement by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET) says that this phenomenon is expected to continue until mid-March 2021.

The statement mentions that we are currently facing the last phase of the North-East Monsoon that will go on till mid-March. During this period of time, rainfall in Semenanjung Malaysia, especially in Northern Malaysia is quite low. With little rainfall over a long duration of time, the weather will be quite hot, especially at night, reported MET.

However, the department also forecasts that the heat will NOT be out of the ordinary this year. They have said that this is a normal phenomenon that we face every year. If compared to the past, the highest temperature that was recorded in February 2021 (36.2°C) is said to be lower than 2020’s highest temperature (37.4°C) during the same time frame.

MET predicts that the hot weather will subsequently be more bearable by April 2021. They have also advised everyone to not do any open burning, lessen going out and to drink more water.

Welp! It looks like we still have to go through this weather for about a month. Stay safe and stay hydrated!
