A man was beaten up by the public due to his apparent involvement in child abduction in Dataran Muhammadi, Kelantan, last night (September 8). Videos have since circulated online, showcasing the detainment of the man by the general public.

In the videos, the man is seen to be wearing a helmet and complaining of pain as he was being beaten up by a group of people over his alleged role in the kidnapping of children for organ harvesting.

Based on a report by Harian Metro, the Kota Bharu District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud shared that the police received a report on the matter at 12.27am.

“Reports state that the public saw the suspect, who is in his 20s, at a children’s playground near Dataran Muhammadi, in a suspicious condition,”

“The suspect, who is also unemployed, was arrested by the public before being handed over to the authorities,” he said.

Mohd Rosdi further added that the results of a screening showed that the man tested negative for drugs and had no previous records. It is also understood that the man had received mental treatment at a hospital back in 2014.

“The suspect was arrested and has since been referred to the hospital for further treatment before appropriate testimonies are taken.”
