The number of Covid-19 novel coronavirus patients in Malaysia, while considerably lower than that of other countries, shows no signs of slowing down. Just recently, a member of Maybank’s own staff in Menara Maybank along Jalan Tun Perak has tested positive for the virus, leading to stringent measures by building management to investigate the matter, according to New Straits Times.
Menara Maybank, which is one of the most prominent commercial buildings to be located in the very heart of Kuala Lumpur, is said to be performing sanitisation and sterilisation works in the affected floors where the patient had visited immediately after, while employees that had direct contact with the patient have been instructed to be quarantined at home for 14 days.
“The home quarantine measure is in accordance with the bank’s safety and health guidelines on Covid-19”, said the bank.
However, aside from the sterilisation works on the affected floors, Maybank officials have mentioned that business will be conducted as usual, with no closure of its services offered.
We hope that those who have been affected by the infectious disease will get well soon, and remind everyone that practising good hygiene habits at this time is an absolute must!
