Earlier, a TikTok user who impersonated a pathologist claimed he was present during the autopsy of the late Zara Qairina on August 10.
Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, later clarified that he wasn’t a specialist or even part of the ministry, after checking with the forensic expert who handled the case.

He has since been detained by the police
Following this, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) identified the suspect, who was later detained by police to have his statement recorded.
According to Harian Metro, the suspect was traced in Kota Damansara on the night of August 18, based on information gathered from two individuals who joined his TikTok live session.
“The suspect’s statement was taken at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters, and his devices have also been seized for analysis.”

MCMC reminded the public that spreading false information about sensitive matters like deaths, tragedies, or accident victims is a serious offence.
The case is now being probed under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for misuse of network services, which can carry up to a RM500,000 fine, two years in jail, or both. Police are also investigating the case under the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 505(b) of the Penal Code.

The case quickly went viral online, with speculation that bullying may have played a role. Around 60 people have since given statements.
The Attorney-General’s Chambers later ordered her grave to be exhumed for a second post-mortem and announced that several suspects would be charged.
