A man who assaulted his girlfriend out of jealousy was recently arrested by the police. According to North Klang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner S Vijaya Rao, the suspect was detained at around 9 PM yesterday (19 September) in front of a condominium.
“The 29-year-old suspect has been remanded for three days.”

“The suspect was successfully apprehended last night and has been remanded for three days until Monday for further investigation under Sections 323 and 427 of the Penal Code,” he added.
Section 323 carries a penalty of up to one year’s imprisonment, or a fine of up to RM2,000, or both. Section 427 provides for a maximum of two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both.
“A urine test will also be conducted on the suspect to determine whether he is involved in drug abuse,” he told Sinar Harian.

Incident believed to be triggered by jealousy
Earlier, Sinar Harian reported that the suspect had assaulted his girlfriend in an incident that occurred at around 12:30 AM at a condominium in Bandar Baru Klang on Thursday.
The 30-year-old victim reportedly sustained injuries to her body.
Preliminary investigations found that the incident is believed to have been triggered by jealousy, as the suspect accused his girlfriend of having a relationship with another individual.
