Accidents are pretty horrific to witness, and worse still to experience first hand. The trauma of being involved in something so severe often lingers on, not to mention the potential injuries one could sustain.
But nobody could have anticipated for the sheer violent nature of this accident as reported by China Press, which happened along the North-South Expressway (PLUS Highway) earlier this morning (1st October 2019).
Occurring during the wee hours of the morning around 4.45am along the 109.3km section of the highway, an unidentified man was attempting to cross the highway in complete darkness, which is dangerous to even attempt in broad daylight.
But in an unfortunate turn of fates, a car that was travelling from Alor Setar couldn’t avoid the man in time and wound up running into him on the highway. The force of impact was so great, the man’s body was flung along the road, before landing on the ground.
The horrific incident only worsened when other drivers who were on the same stretch did not see the body, and drove over it at speed. Inevitably, the man’s corpse was torn and scattered along the road in gruesome fashion, leaving a trail of blood and scattered body parts on the highway.
According to the police, the identity and race of the man has yet to be determined; his foot and palm have been recovered from the scene to aid in the identification process. The case is currently being investigated under the provisions of Section 41(1) of the Land Transport Act 1987.
We hope that the authorities will be able to get to the bottom of this incident, and that the deceased will be able to rest in peace.
