You might be tired just thinking of going to work every day but at least you get paid and have fixed working hours (more or less)! However, being a stay-at-home parent is different as there are no rest days and you don’t get any monetary compensation.
Yet, these wonderful parents do it out of love for their family and their sacrifices often go unnoticed as many people have the misconception that being a stay-at-home parent is an easy task. A Thai man recently shared how he realised how hard his stay-at-home wife worked to take care of their baby and home, and how he was so grateful to his wife.
He posted a collage of screenshots he had taken from the CCTV, saying that he likes to check the footage to see what his wife and baby were doing. After observing, he realised that his wife never stops doing little tasks throughout the day and barely rests.
He then said that although she doesn’t have enough rest, she never complains about being tired. He added a sweet caption for his wife, saying, “I can’t express my gratitude enough for my wife’s sacrifices. Thank you for taking such good care of our child.”
The man also reminded other spouses that they should never think that their stay-at-home partners had it easier.
“People who go out to work complain about feeling exhausted when they come home. They think that their wives have it easier or do nothing at home. Change your mindset, because taking care of a child at home is not easy. I think our jobs outside are not even half as exhausting as our wives.”
His post went viral with more than 31,000 shares so far, as people agreed with his observations. Many people tagged their friends and family to remind them to be grateful for their families. A lot of netizens also praised the man, saying that he was a good husband and father.
His wife responded to the viral post as well, saying that she was surprised that it would garner so much attention. She said, “Actually we don’t need any grand gestures, just understanding and support from our husbands and families is more than enough. This gives us the power to keep going and take care of the family.”
Kudos to all the stay-at-home parents who do it so well! You guys rock!
