Man in JB Stabs Ex-Girlfriend to Death Before Taking Own Life, 2 Others Injured Trying to Stop Him

A woman in Johor Bahru was murdered last night in an argument with her ex-boyfriend, who took his life after the killing.

In the tragedy that took place on Jalan Austin Heights 8/3 in Taman Austin Height last night (20 October), the woman was found with stab and slash wounds on her body.

According to BERNAMA, both the victim and the perpetrator are Myanmar nationals, and a 24-centimeter knife, believed to be the murder weapon was also found at the scene.

The woman’s ex-boyfriend was also found dead at the scene, and police believed that he took his own life immediately after the murder.

 

2 other people were injured in the incident

South Johor Bahru district Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, said that the police received a report about the matter last night at 7:47 PM. He added that two other witnesses were injured while trying to help the couple.

A foreign woman, aged 23, and a local 17-year-old man tried to stop the suspect from attacking the victim, but were injured in the process.

Both the injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the hospital, and the motive of the murder is still under investigation, Raub said in his official statement this morning (21 October).

The matter is now being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, and the public with relevant information are urged to reach out to the police to assist with the investigation.
