What would you do if you happened to find stacks of cash that doesn’t belong to you? Would you keep it or return it?

Well, this man, who was on his way back home to Johor Bahru from Singapore, found an envelope full of SGD$50 (RM150) notes. Instead of keeping all the money in his pocket, he decided to make an effort to find the owner of the cash, according to Mothership.

Without having a single clue about its owner, the man had no choice but to use social media.

The man, identified as Liu, took to Facebook to search for the owner. In order to ensure the money does not fall in the wrong hands, he used a very creative way to identify the owner of the cash.

The Facebook post dated 12 February (Tuesday) said that he found a stack of cash in an envelope. He mentioned that he will only return it to anyone who could tell him the exact amount.

Liu wrote that to those who have lost their money, they can send him a personal message stating the correct amount.

His post reads,

“I found a white envelope with some money inside when l was on the way to JB from Singapore just now. If you have lost your money, kindly pm (personal message) me and I can return the money to you if you are able to tell me exactly how much is inside the white envelope.”

The Facebook post has since gotten over 1.7k shares and caught the attention of many netizens. Netizens began responding to the post by praising the man for his honesty as well as his effort in finding the owner.

“Did anyone pick up SGD$1,000 (RM3,005) worth of money in an envelope? That is the hard-earned money that I’ve made in Singapore for the first time. The envelope is labelled ‘Mia Lim NP Yishun’.”

Well with all the said, let’s hope the owner of the cash will get the money back soon!
