In the early morning of January 10, Beruas Member of Parliament Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham was shocked when he saw that his porch was on fire.

The BOMBA rushed over to his residence. However, one of his cars was already destroyed, while the other 2 vehicles on the porch were heavily damaged.

PDRM has said that it was an arson attack which used a Molotov cocktail. Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said they arrested the suspect in his 30s at 4 am on January 12 at Shah Alam, Selangor.

“The police also seized two mobile phones.”

According to BERNAMA, the Perak police chief mentioned that the suspect had no previous criminal record and would be remanded till  January 16 for further investigations.

This case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for arson, and if found guilty, the perpetrator would face up to 14 years in jail and be required to pay a fine.

If public members have information on this case, they can send it to the investigating officer, ASP Mohd Azalan Ab Karim, at 019-3927837 to aid the investigations.

We certainly hope that the arsonist will face justice soon.
