A Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officer had the tip of his ring finger bitten off by a man who acted aggressively after invading the Sungai Besi Police Station guard post on Monday (April 17) at 10:15pm.
According to a report by Sinar Harian, the Cheras District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Zam Halim Jamaluddin shared that the officer and his colleague were on duty at the guard post before being approached by the suspect.
“The 34-year-old suspect shouted that he wanted to splash acid, before splashing mineral water on the face and body of the officer’s colleague and rushed into the police station compound,” he said.
The suspect then allegedly threw a drink can at a glass wall, causing it to break.
“There was a fight between the suspect and the officers when they tried to arrest the man. The suspect acted aggressively by biting the right ring finger of the officer until it broke at the tip of the finger,” he added.
The suspect was later arrested with minor injuries
“The suspect is wanted by the police with a record regarding a fraud case. A preliminary urine screening test found that the suspect was positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he explained, adding that he had also previously received psychiatric treatment in 2020 but did not have any mental treatment card.
The suspect has since been remanded for 4 days from Tuesday (April 18) to Friday (April 21) to assist with investigations in accordance with Section 325/427 of the Penal Code and Section 90 of the Police Act 1967.
