Another good news to hear as a Malaysian! However, we must not be complacent and continue to adhere to strict social distancing practices.

As of yesterday, Malaysia has recorded an impressive recovery rate of 80.2% for Covid-19 patients which is currently one of the highest in the world!

This was announced by Malaysia’s favourite superhero, Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah in his daily press briefing yesterday. As reported by The Star, Saturday saw another 73 Covid-19 patients cured and discharged from hospital in Malaysia over the past day.

This makes the total recovered Covid-19 patients in our country stands at 5,512 as of yesterday with 1,247 active cases.

This achievement is a testament to the hardworking frontliners that have given their all for Malaysia to be free of Covid-19. Although it is virtually impossible to eradicate the virus without a vaccine, the relevant authorities has done a superb job in curbing the pandemic spread within our shores.

The high recovery rate is also testament to the recognition our health care system has received in the past for being one of the best in the world.

Covid-19 cases in our country has been on the decline ever since the government imposed a Movement Control Order (MCO) on March 18 and now that restrictions have been relaxed with the introduction of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), we have to remain vigilant and adhere to the ‘new norm’ that the wrath of Covid-19 has brought forth.

Stay safe everyone and let’s hope that this pandemic will end sooner rather than later!
