One of the biggest boons to a nationwide ‘stay at home’ notice, is that our environment has drastically improved and healed. And that just so happens to include air quality, which has resulted in much clearer skies in Malaysia (and more breathable air, too).

With that being said, clearer skies also earns us another perk; the ability to catch one of the oldest meteor showers in history!

FOXNEWS

Yes, you read that correctly! The Lyrid meteor shower will give you a chance to catch some incredibly breathtaking sights in the night sky, all from the comfort of your own home. And what makes this all the better is that with a waning moon, you’ll be able to see the meteor shower even clearer!

Known as one of the oldest visible meteor showers in history, the first sightings of the Lyrid meteor shower go back as far as 2,700 years.

So when is the peak hour to catch the dazzling light show?

The Lyrid meteor shower occurs 16 to 25th April annually. You can actually already start seeing some meteor stars shooting across the sky starting tonight, but the peak date and time is of course, the best time to do so.

According to timeanddate.com, it’s Thursday 23rd April 2020, at around 5.48am. You’ll probably have to either wake up really early, or sleep really late for some of the best sights!

But with over 18 meteors trailing across the night sky per hour, this is probably one astrological event that you wouldn’t want to miss out on either way, especially with most of us now staying home on Movement Control Order!
