Malaysians just love hanging out in malls. It’s always the go-to place for a date, family time, gathering with friends and so much more.
Well, a happy family outing for this particular Malaysian turned sour after he was accused of stealing. But that wasn’t the only thing that happened.
Andrew shares to Facebook how him and his family went to a mall in Klang Valley to browse the stores. They then entered a store to buy some stuff before leaving for dinner.
After dinner, they went back to the same store to buy another item, and that’s when things went downhill from there.
“Two employees started to follow us and called the cops on us.
“The mall cop caught us infront of Vincci and the two employees made a commotion accusing us of stealing things which we never did. Fine. So the mall cop took us to a Control room and questioned us there when a real police arrived.”
They had to head to a meeting room on the other side of the mall which concerns Andrew as his mother has difficulty walking.
“The police took the two employees to the store to check the cctvs again. After about 20mins the police returned WITHOUT the employees and told us to leave.”
Andrew describes how upsetting this issue was as the employees didn’t even bother to apologise.
Obviously flustered with the situation, they returned to the store to demand for an apology. However, the store manager and employees didn’t even bother to give them the time of day. Worse, they even insulted his mother!
“We returned to the store and demanded for an apology but the Manager just ignored our demand while the employees started calling my mother BODOH which is completely unacceptable.”
Andrew mentions how he was okay with being accused of stealing, defamed in public and having their time wasted. However, to insult his mother? That was simply not forgivable.
“The police already checked the footage and our body but nothing was found and you still want to INSULT MY MOTHER??
“Where has the respect gone? We are your paying customers yet you have the nerve to insult us even though it is all cleared?”
Netizens who read his post felt for him and hoped that the two employees would be fired for their rude conduct.
Others pointed out that there must be a reason the employees accused him. That perhaps there was misunderstanding. Some retorted that it still doesn’t justify why they did not apologise to him.
Update: The store has since issued an apology on the matter.
