Although it might seem like a bit of fun to don unique uniforms at special events, did you know that it could also be considered illegal?

It has been reported that the police are investigating a TikTok video showing several individuals attending an event dressed in formal attire resembling the ceremonial clothing of uniformed forces.

In a statement, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed this and said the event is now being investigated.

According to him, the police were notified of the incident via a video showing the event. The clip showed several individuals in attire similar to official ceremonial uniforms.

“The video that has gone viral could also bring confusion to the public that might assume that wearing these uniforms is not an offence.”

“Members of the public with information related to this incident are urged to contact the Sungai Buloh district police headquarters at 03-61561222 or the nearest police station to provide information and facilitate the investigation,” he added.
