Days ago a video surfaced of a man cruising through a flood with his motorcycle gained traction all over the internet. What made it outstanding was that the motorcycle was working through a flood throughout the entire way without fault.
Mohd Faizul Lokman, 30, also known as Jijoe, was baffled as never in his dream did he expect the video he posted to receive an overwhelming view of 5 million, instantly making him an internet sensation.
The video, taken on 4th of January clearly showed Jijoe riding a modified motorcycle cruising through a 1.5 metre deep flood water along with his sister Khazuraini, 35, in Kampung Gong Chokoh, Padang Luas, Jerteh.
The talented part-time mechanic said he modified the motorcycle, which belongs to his late father as flood in the area is pretty common. According to Faizul, he modified the Honda C70 motorcycle to the point where it could be completely submerged and still be able to function as usual. He also stated that it took him merely an hour to modify it.
Jijoe modified the motorcycle by placing its carburettor and fuel tank in the basket and handlebars. Whenever it’s not in use, he would return the motorcycle to its original state. Jijoe, who is also a part-time carpenter, said that ”water will not get inside the carburettor and fuel tank when they are placed high up and the engine will not stop working.”
The video and Jijoe’s talent have attracted the attention of several people, including Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh. He said that he was impressed with Mohd Faizul’s creativity which could be further developed for commercial purpose.
