What would you do if the guy you were dating were to send you a list of things he does NOT want you to do? Or when he tells you how to dress and how to sit?
Well, unfortunately, some girls might be misled to think that this is a form of affection. But please, do keep in mind that you are your own person and being given a list of ‘what to do and not to do’ is not healthy at all.
One girl had taken to her Twitter to share a screenshot of a list that her boyfriend had sent her. The list? It consists of the things she’s not allowed to do as he wouldn’t like it.
She captioned the post, “I swear guys like this are so cute, with their lists and all. Can I pinch him?”
Here’s the list:
“There are a lot of things that I don’t like.
1. Don’t be close to other guys.
2. Don’t chat too much with other guys.
3. Never tuck in your shirt into your pants.
4. Never walk by yourself.
5. Sit like a lady in class.
6. Wear your headscarf properly.
7. Love only me (most important)
8. Don’t chat (censored)
9. Don’t ever think that I don’t love you
10. Never lie to meThere’s a lot more. Let me gather them all before sending them to you.”
The list received a considerable amount of backlash from Malaysians because well, for obvious reasons. Just look at that list!
Many saw the list as a red flag and took to her thread to warn her about the controlling tendencies her boyfriend is exhibiting while others threw shade at her for finding it cute in the first place.
This comment goes, “Good for you, dating a hostel warden.”
While some said it’s the girl’s choice if she likes it or not, others argued that the girl may be too naive to see that such actions are actually toxic in a relationship.
It’s understandable that women are angry at the boyfriend’s unreasonable rules. What are your thoughts on this? Share with us your thoughts in the comments section!
