Many families were separated (not by choice) during the pandemic.

When both Malaysia and Singapore imposed their lockdowns, many families were affected by this as some of the parents or spouses worked in Singapore.

Kerinduan….#2xxday#covid19

Posted by Mohd Izwan Sarip on Isnin, 5 Oktober 2020

A man by the name of Mohd Izwan Sarip recently went to the edge of Singapore (Woodlands Park) to meet his family who were waiting across the water at the edge of Malaysia. He compiled the videos from both sides and posted it on Facebook.

Izwan video called his wife and kids and asked if they could see him. When he was on the call, we can hear his child enthusiastically saying,

“Hi papa!”

Izwan got a friend to record a video of him waving to his family while his wife got some family members to do that as well.

According to the post, the family had not seen each other physically ever since 18 March which amounts to a whopping 205 days.

Netizens who commented on the post said that they were brought to tears by how bittersweet this story was and they wish that the family will be reunited soon.

We really do hope that the family will be able to see each other as soon as possible. We understand that being apart from the family is definitely a challenge.
