Motorcyclists, do be careful when you’re on the road! One Malaysian motorcyclist recently shared his experience when he got severely injured while riding his motorcycle near the DUKE highway and warned others about the incident.
In his post, he writes that he got injured by some string near DUKE highway and warns others about it. “There’s a string tied across the road at Jalan Greenwood on the way to the DUKE highway. Please be careful. Luckily I managed to pull the string up if not my neck would be suffering from serious injuries. The exact location is near the Jalan Greenwood traffic light under the flyover, exiting to the DUKE highway,” he said.
He also uploaded a few photos of his injured fingers that got cut by the string and it looks really painful. It is unclear what strings were used but it looks like it may have been some fishing line or kite-flying strings that someone had pulled taut and tied near the flyover’s pillars.
The victim explained that he was not going especially fast at that time but he did not realise that there was a trap. It was tied at a height aiming for any unsuspecting victim’s throat and meant to cause serious injuries. He said that his fingers were injured as he managed to grab the string from cutting his throat but he still suffered some light injuries on his neck and chin.
Netizens were shocked at this incident and mentioned that this may have been a trap laid by unscrupulous robbers. Apparently, the area was notorious for this, as the string was meant to make the motorcyclists fall or stop and when they did so, the robbers would come out of their hiding place and rob the victims.
However, another netizen said that it might have been a kite-flying string that had broken off and fell there but it was highly doubtful. Meanwhile, other people were tagging their friends and family, warning them to be careful when riding their motorcycles.
Always be careful, peeps when you’re on the road, regardless of the vehicle you’re using!
