Many believe the best part about Malaysia is our abundance of delicious food. But, that is only because we have an abundance of different cultures living together harmoniously, while sharing their delicacies.

Another thing that us Malaysians share with each other is our different languages.

The buskersviralklang TikTok page recently showcased a video of a group of Malay buskers singing a song with a Chinese man. What makes this super special is that the song is written in both Malay and Mandarin, and the Malay singer sang the Mandarin part while the Chinese man sang the Malay part!

Buskersviralklang wrote, “The Chinese part is taken by a Malay, the Malay part is taken by a Chinese.”

In the video, the busker and the man could be heard singing Hatiku Kekal Padamu by Mus featuring Victor Lee. The song is a bilingual song as it has both Malay and Mandarin lyrics (what a perfect duet song for Malaysians!).

The Malay busker started off the song by singing the Mandarin lyrics followed by the Chinese man singing the Malay lyrics, and we have to say, they both sound amazing!

Many took to the post to show their love for the busker and the man’s performance.

song 1

“It’s amazing that you two were singing a duet song in Bahasa Malaysia and in Mandarin, in the spirit of unity. You two are amazing. Isn’t this the best?”

song 2

“Now this is what I call ‘harmony’. I’m so proud.”
