“I can imagine no heroism greater than motherhood.” —Lance Conrad
A mother’s love knows no bound and throughout their lives, mothers have proven themselves to be the real heroes without cape. In a TikTok post by @asiah1106 recently, the clip shows how far a mother is willing to go to get the best for her child. Asiah, who runs an IT shop in Kedah shares an experience when she was approached by a Mak Cik who wanted to pawn her gold bracelets for a laptop.
“She wanted to get a laptop for her daughter who needs the device for her study,” Asiah said.
It was not easy for the Mak Cik because pawning the jewelry was her last resort, and it was even more emotional because she got the gold bracelet for her wedding. The sentimental value in the jewelry is strong but a mother’s love beats everything else.
“My husband gave this bracelet to me. But my daughter is more important, we’ll try to find something else,” the elderly cried as she spoke about the jewelry that she was emotionally attached to.
However, Asiah had something else in mind, and it did not require the elderly to pawn her gold bracelet.
“You don’t have to do so. Keep the bracelet, Mak Cik,” Asiah told her.
Asiah suggested the elderly to join in her “kutu funds”, a monetary funding scheme for savings and quick cash, which is common among friends and families. The Mak Cik agreed to do so after it suited her budget, and Asiah continued by showing her a laptop suitable for educational purposes.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Asiah said the elderly is no longer part of her “kutu funds”, all thanks to an unnamed kind-hearted person.
“Someone has donated a laptop to the Mak Cik,” Asiah said.

@asiah1106 Makcik ni mai nk tolak gelang emas semata mata nk beli laptop utk anak dia . Macam ni la Pengorbanan mak ayah kita nk bg ank bljaq utk ubah nasib keluarga #kutuasiah #ibukutuasiah #fypシ #fyp #foryoupage #xyzbca #kedah
To some, buying a laptop is merely a small matter without taking budget into account but to others, they may need to rack their brains and think about survival for the entire month. We hope the Mak Cik’s daughter appreciate the selfless effort and hopefully, she’ll do well in her studies!
