A video is currently going viral online showcasing a lorry hitting a car in the leftmost lane of the Duta–Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE Highway). The impact caused the car to spin into the rightmost lane, mirroring the effects of a Precision Immobilisation Technique (PIT manoeuvre).
Netizen Chingyee Hwee took to the DashCam Owners Malaysia Facebook page to share footage of the incident, which took place on Saturday (28 February).
Witness account
Regarding the incident, she wrote:
“Around 3:50 PM to 4:00 PM today, along the DUKE Highway, I witnessed a traffic accident. I was driving in the left lane when a lorry from the middle lane cut into my lane and collided with the Proton Wira in front of me. The Wira spun into the middle of the road after the impact.”
“The lorry did not immediately stop and continued driving. I have the dashcam footage of the incident. If you are the Wira owner or know them, please DM me. I’m willing to share the video to assist with a police report,” she added.
In the video, Chingyee can be heard yelling at the lorry driver, “Stop your lorry!” before the footage concludes.
Police report lodged
Chingyee later clarified in the comments section of her post that the owner of the Proton Wira had reached out to her for the footage. The car owner also commented on the post to confirm that a police report had been lodged.
“I’m the owner of the car; I already lodged a report at the police station after the incident. My car also has a dashcam, but I will also send this video shared by Chingyee to the Sergeant. Thank you to those who were concerned. Stay safe on the road,” the owner shared.
