Recording company Universal Music Malaysia has taken down the music video for Dolla’s latest single, Question, after it was criticised as inappropriate and insensitive by local audiences.
The video was also removed following a statement issued by the Minister of Religious Affairs, who said the ministry is considering taking action against Muslim celebrities who wear revealing outfits under Syariah laws.

“We respect cultural views and religious sensitivities.”
In a statement last night (15 November), the company’s managing director, Kim Lim, said they take all feedback seriously and will assume full responsibility for any oversight.
“We believe that creativity and artistic expression must go hand in hand with sensitivity to local norms.”
“Therefore, the decision to take down the music video in question is a reasonable step to maintain harmony and respect for all parties,” he added.

According to Kim, Universal Music Malaysia also emphasised that moving forward, they are committed to ensuring every creative plan undergoes a more rigorous review process, involving internal discussions and professional consultations to prevent similar issues from recurring.
“We hope this matter can be resolved without affecting the relationship between artists, fans, and the Malaysian music community as a whole.”
Dolla recently attracted public attention after releasing the music video for Question, which featured the members in revealing outfits, prompting the Minister of Religious Affairs to comment on the matter.
