Recently, Dr Noor Hisham mentioned that the key to reducing the number of hospitalisations is by vaccination, reported Berita Harian. Hence, with the increasing number of cases and the health director-general’s advice, more people are coming forward to get vaccinated.

The Secretary-General of Kuala Lumpur And Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) said that as he was compiling the list of people who registered for the vaccinations, he chanced upon a Malaysian who registered his name with his vaccine preference.

“Lim (I Don’t Want AZ)”

In the screenshot shown by China Press, we can see that the man has the surname Lim and behind his name, he put:

“I don’t want AZ (AZ here refers to AstraZeneca)

Could reflect on the vaccination certificate

Even though it appears to be a hilarious addition to the category, the Secretary-General said that when applying for the vaccine, it is best to put your full name according to your IC as problems might arise with the processing of your application. He has also said that the man should contact JKJAV to amend his name.

The Secretary-General urged the members of the public to not follow this as it will probably reflect on your vaccination certificate. Consequently, it might cause some verification issues with your official documents such as your passport which will, in turn, hinder your plans to go abroad etc.

As of 21 July, 18,885,523 Malaysians have registered for vaccination while 9,570,974 have had their first dose, according to statistics from JKJAV.

We certainly hope that more people will get vaccinated soon, and those who have not should really register for it (with the correct information).
