Legendary and beloved Malaysian shuttler, Datuk Lee Chong Wei has announced that he and his wife are expecting their 3rd little bundle of joy!
Taking to his official Facebook page to share a lovely post in conjunction with Malaysia Day, he also surprised everyone by ending his post with the pregnancy announcement.
He wrote, “A while ago, Azlan asked me why Wooi Yik cried when he won the World Championship. I said, it’s most likely due to, in that moment he had a flash back to all the hard work he has done for this country, it’s all worth it now. That moment, he knew he was able to make his family, friend and countrymen proud. Then Nini asked me why I cried on the Olympic podium. My answer? I couldn’t give my country the happiness they want.”
“I received offers to coach overseas. Huge offers. But, I stayed. Malaysia is much better. This is the country you were born in. (Where) you were schooled. You have memories with your friends and family. You favourite foods are here. You had your biggest laughter here.”
He also included how Malaysians love to complain but only because we love so deeply and that he hopes to see a Malaysia with no racial politics.
“I love Malaysia. Happy Malaysia Day.”
And then comes the announcement!
“Because we love our country, we are adding another Malaysian citizen! We ask that everyone please pray for a smooth pregnancy,” he said.
He had apparently asked his two sons if they wanted the baby to be a boy or a girl, to which one of his sons, Kingston, said he preferred the baby to be a girl. When asked why, he adorably said, “Don’t want to buy another controller for my Nintendo Switch. There’s only 2 (controllers). If I get another brother, there would be less chances for me to play.”
What a ridiculously cute family!
