Kolams are decorative art often seen on the floor during traditional Indian festivals and weddings, and usually take quite a while to do.
Which is why it is rather painful to see someone blatantly disrespect the hard work and beauty behind creating a kolam.
The Pachai Tamizhan 2,0 Facebook page recently shared a video of a KPJ Klang Specialist Hospital (KPJ Klang) staff member deliberately walking all over and destroying a kolam made in conjunction with Deepavali.
They wrote, “They took, for this kolam, hours to complete but this guy did stupid things, at KPJ Klang.”
In the video, the man could be seen purposely walking on the kolam and making holes in it with his shoes.
Not only did KPJ Klang launch an investigation into the incident, the North Klang district police chief ACP S. Vijaya Rao did too.
In a statement, KPJ Klang informed the public that they are not okay with such behaviour happening under their roof.
“KPJ Klang does not condone any act of disrespect among its staff within the compound of its hospital. We have launched an internal investigation into the video and stern actions will be taken should our staff be involved,” they wrote.
ACP S. Vijaya Rao, on the other hand, made a police report and this case is now being investigated under Section 298A of the Penal Code for intentionally or attempting to harm the state of harmony or unity. If found guilty, he may face jail time of 2 to 5 years.
