It looks like Malaysian travellers were left in the dark this morning.

Earlier today (24th March), Gateway@Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA 2) was engulfed in pitch darkness due to a power outage.

Needless to say, this alarmed (and amused) a lot of Malaysians, who took to Twitter and Facebook to share their pitch black surroundings with the rest of the world.

One Twitter user posted a video showing just how dark the mall area was. Freaked out by the darkness he was engulfed in, the Twitter user simply captioned,

” #KLIA2 blackout. Wtf?”

If you’re afraid of the dark, the sight can be quite unsettling and creepy.

It looks like a horde of zombies could just pop out at any moment! Spooky!

One Facebook user posted pictures of the creepy sights of the blackout as well.

According to a report by The Star Online, the blackout occurred at around 12.20 pm. Luckily, the power outage didn’t last that long as the backup generators powered the emergency lighting 5 minutes later.

Thankfully, according to a representative from Gateway@KLIA2, the power outage only affected the shopping mall and not the terminal.

However, airport technicians are not sure what caused the sudden blackout but are currently investigating the matter.

Well, we’re glad nothing worse happened at least!

Watch the video of the blackout below!
